Why hello! This week has been a blur. We had a couple friends come up this past weekend, it also happened to be State College's Arts Fest. Kevin bought some bowls, and I bought a cutting board! We have a few things from these people and their work is just beautiful. I don't know if I'll ever be able to use it! It's cherry wood I believe? And they gave me a spoon with it. It's shiny and smooth and just so pretty. The bowls Kevin bought are also beautiful, he bought plates from the guy last year. Now all we need are a few more plates and mugs. haha.
I drove home for the day on Tuesday to see my Aunt Laura, Uncle Dan and my two cousins, Lilly and Maggie! The weather people were saying a huge storm was coming so I didn't get to spend as much time as I'd like with them because I wanted to leave before the rain hit.
My mom made these little fairy houses for them! And they looked amazing! The girls really liked them. They're just growing so fast. Now I understand why everyone said to me, "I remember when you were just this big!" It's us adults gripping with reality. haha. But it was really nice seeing everyone!
And then yesterday I worked a double at The Tavern! Oh and the night before my lovely neighbors decided to have another night of just loud and so I went to Walmart and bought those noise protector earmuffs, the kind people wear when they're mowing or shooting a gun. AND I bought more earplugs and sleeping aid drugs. It surprisingly worked! I can't hear their vibrating sounds but the downfall is that I have to sleep on my back, which I don't normally do. So I did get a better nights sleep because I wasn't angry but my back and neck were sore the next day. Last night they actually kept quiet, but that's once in a blue moon. Two more weeks! And then I'll be in Pittsburgh for a week and then Tennessee!
I made a flamingo pattern. I added the grass just so it wouldn't all be pink flamingoes. It was fun to print!
I also finally put up the giraffe pattern up on Etsy if anyone was interested!
I had leftover green and pink ink, and I have these leftover odd shaped rubber cutouts and I was always curious if I could make a pattern or do something with them. It reminds me of something, I just don't know what! I mean I'm not blown away by the outcome but it is semi pleasant to look at. I like the way the ink laid out on the paper. So I'm thinking if I have leftover ink I'll just make things like this. Start a weird collection.
My parents are coming up tomorrow to take my press. If i'm only in Tennesse for three months I don't want to have to take it there just to take it back to possibly Pittsburgh. My parents are nice enough to store it for me for those months. The press is so lovely, I don't want to say goodbye. haha. But it's only three months! I can make this long distance relationship work!
I'm trying to work as much as possible until I leave for good. It'll be bittersweet, I like the people there, and it's also a comfort thing that you're leaving behind. I spent two and half years of my life there! But I feel this town is only really meant for students and 60 years old. (And I guess professors)
I am ready for new surroundings that's the only positive thing about my neighbor, he is making it very easy to say goodbye to State College.
