Actually, no, no I am not. I will never say y'all.
But I'm in Knoxville, Tennessee!!
We finally got here! The drive was long, especially with two cats.
Moochie, my 11 year old, permanent looking kitten, surprisingly took the drive okay. She definitely wasn't happy about being in the crate but she was quiet.
Not Toffer, who wasn't in a crate because he is an abnormally large cat. There was a lot of meowing, a lot of panting and many looks of, "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?" He would be quiet for 20 minutes, thinking he'd tired himself out, but then he'd remember he was in a car and start freaking out again.
How are they getting along you may ask?
Well I was nervous, because Toffer would hiss every time Moochie would meow occasionally in the car.
But they each have their designated corner pretty much. Toffer gets the living room and kitchen, Moochie has our bedroom/closet and the bathroom. Mooch won't venture out while Kevin is in the living room but Toffer will come in the bedroom occasionally and let me remind you, Toffer is twice the size of Moochie, when he sees Moochie nonchalantly walk towards him he runs away! You should go on my Instagram to see my documentation of it!
Moochie is kind of tolerating Kevin. She runs when he enters a room but if he lying down she'll come near him.
So I thought we were in the clear! But no...I was sitting on the edge of our bed and I just happened to turn around and see Moochie peeing on Kevin's side of the bed! I read that you're suppose to feed them where they peed cause obviously they don't want to eat where they go to the bathroom! I only gave her treats not a meal, so the next day she pees again! In the same spot, I was livid, and she definitely got that vibe because she was hiding behind the toilet for awhile. So I buy a shower curtain cover the bed and made her eat there, which she did not like but she hasn't done it since. I still put the plastic curtain on just for good measure, it takes an extra 30 seconds to put it on.
We do not have a washer and dryer, so washing clothes, sheets and towels is not as easy anymore!
One last thing about my cat, Moochie, she never did this when I came home to Pittsburgh, but when Kevin and I go to bed, she won't. She jumps off and on, jumps over my head, stares at Kevin, stares at me. She's crazy! And I have no idea why she does it! She never did that when it was me her, I don't know if its just because of Kevin or not, any ideas?
All right, enough about cats! On to the apartment! It's a nice apartment! I was going to take pictures, but it's really hard to take photos of rooms? Who thought? haha.
Once you walk through the door, it's an open living room on the right, the kitchen is on the left. When you walk thru the kitchen there is the "laundry" room aha. The kitchen has black cabinets, fridge and stove. Enough counter space. There's a little hallway to the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom has two doors, one to the hallway and then one to the bedroom. The bathroom is the biggest bathroom i've ever had. I can take a shower OR a bath. I haven't had that option since I've left home for college. We have plenty of space in the bedroom. The closest just fits our clothes in it. There are two large window doors to the patio, one from the bedroom and one from the living room.
I might just take a video eventually and upload that, cause descriptions are never as fun as visuals!
The apartment area is nice also! There's a pool and gym and then a park that is walkable and isn't terrifying.
We are right off of Kingston Pike, which is MASSIVE. It literally has everything you could want. There are tons of restaurants and shopping plazas.
Kevin and I were most excited about Whole Foods. Cause we love food haha.
We went to a cute brunch place last saturday called The Plaid Apron, I had sourdough french toast with fresh peaches. So, so, so good.
Today we went downtown to Knoxville, and thanks to my Aunt Laura, went to the Farmers Market, which I was very impressed with, a lot of local produce and meat. The shops and restaurants and looked nice too. We passed a couple food trucks which I definitely want to try! But for breakfast we went to The French Market Creperie, I had a sweet crepe...cause duh. It was lemon and sugar, yum. Coffee was okay.
It was History day or something today around Market Square. I saw Abraham Lincoln from afar! I really just wanted to find him again but he was gone...but the History museum was free admission so we checked that out, learned about Eastern Tennessee history, and then looked at that World's Fair Ball thing.
Kevin was feeling a bit under the weather but he's also not a tourist, unlike me, with new cities or places, I can walk for hours. So he has to tell me when he wants to stop cause I'll keep walking. haha. But from the bit I saw of knoxville, I'd like to explore some more! I'm also really surprised it's free parking on Saturday and Sunday!
So far I like Knoxville!
Kevin has one more week till his job starts, so we'll just continue looking around.
I want to get to the Smoky Mountains ASAP.
I was able to do some printmaking yesterday!
I made teacup and teapot stamps, I think they're adorable!
I can't wait to make a pattern with them.
Thank You to anyone who took the time to read all that! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Also here's a photo of my dog Tucker, I wanted to take nice photos of him but you'd think I was aiming a gun at him!
So much for being a model!
