So as some of you may know, Kevin was guaranteed 3 months at Oak Ridge, so he was looking for other jobs elsewhere, he was offered a job in NYC for a start up company in Brooklyn! But the people at Oak Ridge also wanted to keep him around! So Kevin had about a week to think it over, and it honestly didn't matter to me. Both locations I felt had pros and cons, Knoxville is more laid back, we have a spacious apartment, don't have to move again. With New York City, there's endless things to do there, don't have to drive anywhere, and there's a great art scene.
Kevin is really enjoying the work he is doing at Oak Ridge, so if they were able to guarantee him at least a year of work with benefits, he'd stay!
And guess what?! We're staying here!
I'm completely happy with the decision! It gives us a sense of stability and now I can start looking for work, make some money while still working on my projects. Fingers crossed I find something soon. I'm looking in the food industry because it's the easiest and quickest way to make money while still being at home.
Plus I really did not want to move the cats all the way to NYC. Toffer would have went postal. And now I don't have to rush and try to get Moochie her therapy in a month! And I my press is coming back to me!!
At the end of the day I would have made it work even if we were going to go NYC, even though it's cliche and cheesy, I'd go anywhere with Kevin. I can print my work anywhere, so I am very easy going about the whole moving thing.
Speaking of my children (AKA my cats) they are surprisingly getting along. They aren't snuggling (which I would pass out of happiness if that ever happened) but they're able to sleep in the same room together! Toffer will chase her occasionally but I think that's just built up energy. Toffer definitely misses Kevin when he leaves, I've never seen a cat so happy to see someone come home like Toffer.
On to my prints!
I've taken a break from "My Kiss" linocut because I think I'm done, I just need a press to actually see the final result. So at the end of October I should have my press!
I have been working on cats and a fox with floral crowns because why not? I follow Juniper on Instagram, which is the cutest fox and there's a photo of her wearing a floral crown and I asked if I could use it for a linocut and they said yes!
She's adorable! I'm really pleased at how it turned out. I like the black and white but I'm going to try a color monoprint and then put the fox on top. I plan on trying this with all the cats also.
They're hilarious and cute, which is when I enjoy a project the most. I plan on doing more, I'm excited about the color layer which I'll be doing this weekend! They should be on Etsy soon! I added my little pumpkin to the shop if anyone is interested in buying it!
Final thing, Fall tv shows! I am a little sad I don't have cable and either have to watch it a week later on Hulu or find it online somewhere.
I am still dedicated to Scandal, even though I am just tired watching it, I love Kerry Washington, but I am so over the yelling. Her and Fitz are literally a middle-school couple, the being together then not being together, and when they are together Fitz is all "lets tell the world" and she's always saying no? Fitz obviously doesn't care about being president and just wants to sleep with Olivia ALL THE TIME. Can we get a new storyline? I wanted her to be with Jake. Jake is beautiful.
How to Get Away with Murder had an okay second season start, I don't want to spoil anything, but I wasn't that surprised about that girl's killer. Viola Davis is wonderful and really that's the reason I'll still commit to this show.
Modern Family is still funny but you can tell it's getting tired. I'm real over the will they or won't they with Andy and Haley.
AHS-I'm actually really curious about Lady Gaga being in this season. Hopefully the story lines make sense.
I watched Quantico, because they did really good advertising, and I wanted to see what happened! I'm not blown away by it but it was entertaining.
The Leftovers is quite possibly the weirdest show, but it's fascinating, they have these scenes that have no explanation at first and you just want to know why! It's on HBO. They are on their second season, and they have just moved to a new town. If you're into depressing sci fi, I suggest it? I sold it so well, I know.
I wanted to like Scream Queens, because it seemed funny, but it isn't. And it's over acted and not in a humorous way. It really lacks charm, especially from the characters.
I believe that is it? I miss Parks and Recreation...
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
