Early post, but I actually printed some cards!
See my cat, Toffer? Yeah, he's a mini lion.
I had to do probably my least favorite part of the printing process, ripping paper and registering. I would pay someone to do all that stuff for me. Lining up the ruler, double checking the measurments, ripping the paper. I don't have a paper tearing ruler, so I had to get creative...by flipping my ruler over so it was in direct contact with the paper. Another investment I should look into. haha.
The thing I'm realizing with cards is I have to fold them, HA, I added another step to my least favorite part.
I added felt! I mentioned how the paper was moving in my last post and I was thinking about the process I do in an actual studio, and we always added two sheets of newsprint and FELT. That is my doh moment. My paper doesn't move now! I'm still using the roller pin, it gives me the most even print.
I also have a few that are just pewter. But the ones that I am showing are a combination of pewter and purple. I love metallics, it adds a little extra sparkle to the ink. Overall I am pleased! Obviously the last one I didn't rip the paper small enough, so I'll just have to wait till it dries to tear off the little sections. See? I'm no good at the tearing, registering thing.
I ordered ink and linoleum from Graphic Chemical and Ink Company, but I have no idea if I'll actually get my order because they haven't charged me yet and they don't believe in email...haha. So we'll see. I want to continue making more of these things, but I do not have any more linoleum. I'm also trying to decide whether to open an etsy shop or just open a "store" on my site? Or both? Etsy has that community thing going on, which has more hope of getting my work out there.
